Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! =D

Day 1 of CNY I went to my Grandma house, then to my Uncle house. It was quite boring because after eating, we just watch tv.

Day 2 of CNY my family and I went to Sentosa to see the flowers and had lunch at Malaysia Food Street, which we queue for very long to go in and also to order food. I went to Brent's house at 5pm plus and watch annoying orange video and TV. After that we headed to Botak Favourites for dinner. :)

Day 3 & 4 of CNY school as per normal. Oh and during dinner yesterday at the restaurant, with Vick, Carolin and Brent, they laughed at Double Rainbow >.< I'm so embarrassed. Ok, I made another video of Double Rainbow. Enjoy! =D

Today after school, Vick, Jon, Haziq, Atika, Brent, Carolin and I went to Jurong Point for lunch at Long John Silver and also shop for Vick's mouse. We went to a shop that sells lots of chocolate. I bought Disney Princess chocolate. I also bought a foldable keyboard, as my netbook keyboard is so small and hard to type. With the foldable keyboard, I an type without making any sound and can bring it to school as it is so convenience.

Synopsis

Rescue 995

Some people say that the ambulance paramedic's job is the toughest in having to deal with accident victims or critically ill patients. Paramedics do not draw attention to themselves but carry out their work in quiet efficiency, always at the frontline of life-saving work to re-ignite the light of life for those on the brink of death.

In the course of saving a pregnant woman and a young man suffering from head injuries, Shi Haoran (Jeanette Aw) and Xu Wenqian (Yvonne Lim) realise that it is their first day of work with the ambulance team. Haoran's father Shi Xinguo (Zhu Houren) is a cardiac specialist who wants his daughter to study medicine. Their relationship is strained when she chooses to be a paramedic instead. Caught in the crossfire is Zhong Lingfeng (Hong Huifang), Haoran's mother and a TCM practitioner. Haoran does not desire acknowledgements or accolades from her achievements but rejoices over the lives she saves. Armed with a wealth of knowledge in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, she inevitably oversteps the boundary of a paramedic.

Ambulance paramedics, too, are humans with feelings and moods. When their patients are in need of treatment, however, they have to rein in their personal feelings because nothing elates them more than succeeding in saving a life!

Shi Haoran (Jeanette Aw) - Paramedic

Haoran is the daughter of Xinguo and Lingfeng and Zeming's younger sister. She is independent and has her own views, is kind and caring, calm and collected. She argues based on logic and believes that men and women are equal. She likes to do things independently and doesn't show her weak side easily. As she is overly enthusiastic and passionate, it causes her to be easily discouraged by setbacks.

It's the fourth day of school, quite boring today. First lesson SVE, the module I dislike the most because the lesson is just making me sleepy. After that was HRA, my favourite module this semester, as we are mostly done with our project, and we can slack. We watch shows from Brent's laptop throughout the lesson. =D After that was WTB. teacher just tell us about the format of the project and need to sign off at the end of the report. Had lunch with Vick, Jon, Haziq, Atika, Carolin, Brent and Pei Xuan at Eco. After eating, we went to library to slack, which is what I am doing now. I just watched finish episode 6 of Perfect Deception. This drama is getting more interesting. The whole drama is to find out what actually happened to Jessie before the accident, and Jessie to find out what their parents are hiding from her.

Pencil: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad. :)

Our Parents are like the eraser whereas we children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way they get hurt, older, and eventually pass away, they will still be proud of their children that had grown up to be independently. So let your parents know you are thankful and grateful for their love and don't fight back when they are trying to protect you.

Since Monday I have been bringing my brother to school. I never go to school with him in the past. He is such a annoying person. Will complain everyday. His first day of school, while we are walking to the LRT, he walked slowly and said that his shoes are very loose, difficult to walk. He even kick his shoes in front to show me how loose it is. It's such an embarrassing moment. It is at public and he did such a thing. I have nothing to say, but just waited for him to put on his shoes back. Today early in the morning 6am keep annoying my sleep. In the end I continue to sleep until 7am then wake up. He told me his class today is at 9am and want me to bring him to the classroom. He keep asking me to be faster, then I asked him to show me his timetable, then it shows that his first lesson is at 8am. then at 7.30am, we left the house and go school. When I came back home, he said you finally come back home. -_- I hate that voice. >:( just now at 9pm, he call me to come his room, I asked him why from my room, then he don't want say, then i don't want to go. He kept shouting ask me to come, then I go there unwillingness, he just call me to turn off the light. I was like Walao!!! Like that only ask me come here, still say urgent. Irritating! Grrrrrrr... fire burning inside me. Can't he just off the light himself, he is nearer to the switch. =C He always make my day worst at home. Tomorrow still want me to bring him to the same class I brought him there today. This is such a sad life. =C

1st day of school was great. At 8.25am, my Brother and I reached school. I brought him to the assemble place, which is the Indoor Sports Hall. His class is QU A1. After he settle at that place, I left to meet Vick at the bridge near the bus stop. We meet Jon outside library at 9am. We went in the library and use our lap top. =D 10am Carolin and Brent came. We slack until 11am then we went to Eco for lunch. As usual, I ate peanut waffle, which I missed so much. haha. =D
At 11.30am, we went to our classroom at 1606. I was playing my phone triple city. I game is similar to the FB game that called triple town. =) At 12.50pm, my classmates came into the classroom one by one. First lesson at 1pm is HRA. Teacher check our project work, then most of the time, we were slacking. haha =D 3pm was SVE lesson. I couldn't find my SVE book. =s We learnt about handling service breakdown and then did 2 questions. After school, Vick, Haziq, Atika, Carolin, Brent and I took bus 188 to Lot One and we had Mcdonald there. It's my dinner. =D After eating, Vick and I walk around Lot One to see bag, and I also bought a birthday present for my sister, whose birthday is tomorrow. =D We went to the Bus Interchange. I was supposed to take bus 300 home, but I didn't queue up. In the end, the bus was full, and I had to walk home. -_-

I can't wait to go back to school to meet my classmates and teachers, and also my favourite peanut waffles, which I did not taste it for 1 whole month. =D For today, I will be staying at home to clean the house and look for my missing pencil case and books. =)

Today I was suppose to wake up at 6am and leave house at 7am, but in the end, I woke up at 7.15am. Today is a great day for me. I get to film a Channel U drama called Jump with my idol Jeanette Aw. =) I reached Dragonfly @ St James Power Station at 8.15am. After that the crew gave me the cheering stuff. =) I get to know this girl Eileen and we chat a lot. =D

The lunch is very spicy. I can't take it anymore. I wasted food. =s

Jeanette, here's a story which I hope you will read - When I was young, I always had "A CHILD'S HOPE" of becoming a "TRUE HERO" like one of "THE SHAOLIN WARRIORS". But my "SPICE SIBLING" Ah kor would always laugh over it and say I shld stay put as "THE LITTLE NYONYA" and stop dreaming. He even said the reason we were so diff is becoz I was "SWITCHED" at birth and I am supposed to be someone else's child! Ah Kor was then a rebellious teenager who wld roam around "HOLLAND V" with his gang which they called themselves "RAINBOW CONNECTION"! I always thot that was a weird name for a gang but Ah kor thinks it's perfect as there were seven of them and they represent the seven rays of the diff colours of the rainbow! Duh! His dream is to become a rich man one day coz he says "CASH IS KING"! Occasionally when Ah kor feels bored at home, he wld rope me in to play "CID" and once got himself injured when he "JUMP" from "THE PEAK" of a tower. We had to call "995" and fortunately his injuries were not so serious. At times, we wld challenge on a game of chess but as he is, Ah Kor will say he is "THE CHAMPION" even if I win! Big bully aside, here's someone I call "MY LUCKY CHARM" and it's none other than 'mummy dearest'. Mum was an amazing woman who has shown me the "RYTHM of LIFE". I was always her "PRECIOUS" little girl and we both have a "BEAUTIFUL CONNECTION". Mum says seeing me grow up each day was "THE DEFINING MOMENT" in her life. I always remember mum giving me the "KISS OF A TOAST" each time I made her happy! I always felt that mum had her "DESTINY IN HER HANDS". Dad died of illness when we were young and mum wld hold two jobs to help us get by. At times, even when she almost "BREAKOUT" she wld persevere and carry on without a complaint. She has been a role model to me and Ah Kor and "THRU IT ALL" mum always reminds us that whatever happens in life, there is always a "NEW BEGINNING" and we shld never give up. Today, the three of us are living happily "TOGETHER" and Ah Kor is not so much of a bully as before! One thing though that I detest - mum's constant reminder of when I will get married so that she can have her very own "DEAR SON IN LAW"!

Super IQ is Singapore's first ever IQ game show on television. Contestants and viewers will be challenged with mind-boggling IQ questions testing their spatial knowledge, logical, mathematical and memory skills. This show aims to tease viewer's brains and to hook them to their TV screens until all the questions are solved.

Hosted by "Mr IQ" Lee Teng, two young contestants (between the age of 15-25) with good IQ will challenge each other in every episode. A run down body can not repair itself adequately. When speaking about acne, this means microcomedones that would have spontaneously corrected themselves may become inflamed and noticeable zits. Follicle walls are sensitive structures and lack of sleep may lead to more follicle rupture and inflamed acne production. Give your skin the sleep it needs if at all possible.

While the sun is important for the production of vitamin D, especially if you do not eat dairy products, excess sun exposure is actually skin damage. While the sun feels good, it may bite back with acne in the weeks following exposure.

This is how I celebrate my Christmas this year. In the afternoon 12pm, my Mum, Brother and I went to Causeway Point to buy clothes, after that, we took bus 856 to Woodlands Waterfront to play. The wind there was very strong. =D

THE MediaCorp actress was once so overweight she was in her school's TAF (Trim And Fit) Club for four years trying to slim down.

Lim, 24, told The New Paper she tipped the scales at 61kg when she was 12 years old.

She's now 1.67m tall and weighs 51kg.

There's no doubt she has blossomed, but she's uneasy with the "babe" label.

She said: "I'm okay, lah. I can accept (my looks). Every girl has certain things (about herself) she is not happy with and I'm glad my job makes me pretty."

Lim may be a poster girl for Uniqlo's fall/winter 2011 campaign, but she claims she is a tomboy who likes wearing shorts and T-shirts and going out without make-up on.

But there is a brain behind the beauty.

The Singapore Management University accountancy graduate who also majored in law was named Miss Photogenic and was one of the top five finalists in Miss Singapore Universe 2005.

She was ranked eighth in FHM Singapore magazine's list of the world's 100 sexiest women this year.

Her career is going places too.

After winning Best Drama Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role at last year's Asian Television Awards for her work playing a lawyer in Channel 5's The Pupil, she is back for the second season and is headlining the new Channel 5 mystery-thriller Perfect Deception.

She said: "I'm not a babe but I'm a vainpot. I have a facial once a month, apply sunscreen every day and carry an umbrella to block out the sun. And sometimes when I see a mirror, I check it to see if I'm okay."

2. Chris Tong

THERE'S almost nothing this 28-year-old Malaysian actress who's making it big on local shows likes about her face.

Her eyes are not big or lively enough, and she wants her nose to be fleshier.

On the bright side, she likes her upturned lips, which make her look personable.

It's a rather harsh self-assessment coming from the winner of the Miss Chinese Cosmo Pageant in Malaysia in 2006.

Tong said: "I've never liked my looks or thought I was pretty since I was young...

"I feel uneasy when people tell me I'm pretty. I'd prefer it if they said I was clever or something."

She added: "My confidence comes from the 100 per cent effort I put into my performances."

And her hard work has put her in good stead, snagging her a string of dramas and movies this year.

She's completed three MediaCorp dramas (The Family Court, C.L.I.F and Code Of Honour) and another three movies (Petaling Street Warriors, The Wedding Diary and The Golden Couple) which will be released in the next few months.

She has agents here and in Malaysia, Hong Kong and China, and will play the lead in a China-Hong Kong movie collaboration next year.

Tong, who is currently across the Causeway filming the MediaCorp-Malaysian drama Justice In The City, added: "I've only worked freelance in the past, and I'm pleasantly surprised I got to where I am now with different paths to explore."

3. Julie Tan

WHEN 19-year-old Julie Tan was a child, her mother used to joke that she was so ugly she would one day have to be sent for plastic surgery.

Mrs Tan should be pleased that she can save the money.

Julie, who's now juggling acting roles in TV dramas with her theatre studies at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, even managed to clinch the first runner-up title at The New Paper New Face modelling contest in 2009.

She said: "I was dark and skinny as a child, and my mother always told me I was ugly. I believed it."

The pixie-like cutie has had a great year, with a leading role in local entertainment website xinmsn's web drama Let's Play Love and another meaty role as a cabaret singer alongside Joanne Peh and Eelyn Kok in Channel 8's drama A Song To Remember.

Earlier this year, she was offered a contract to be part of a Korean pop girl group but turned it down to pursue acting. Her career is looking rosy, but Julie doesn't think it has anything to do with her looks.

"I don't see myself as pretty. I'm average, and I think it was my confidence that got me that far in New Face," she said.

"Rebecca (Lim) and Chris (Tong) are very feminine and charismatic. I have no qualms about losing (Babe Of The Year) to them."

Former New Face snags a hot guy and acting role in TV drama

IF IT hadn't been for The New Paper New Face, Jayley Woo would never have been able to score her big break on local television.

The spunky, pixie-faced 19-year-old credits this newspaper's modelling competition for helping her become the first of this year's 20 finalists to snag a debut acting role in a major MediaCorp show.
She is now filming Channel U's new youth-themed drama Jump, co-starring Jeanette Aw and Zhang Zhenhuan.

The first-year mass communications student at MDIS is also basking in the bliss of a new romance.
Jayley is dating Edwin Goh, 17, the chiselled-jawheart-throb who found fame on the Channel 5 period drama Fighting Spiders and Channel 8 hit series On The Fringe.

Coincidentally, he is also starring in Jump, which premieres next May.

"Without New Face and (The New Paper columnist and New Face judge) Yeoh Wee Teck, I'll never be where I am today," said Jayley.

Facebook find
She was offered an audition opportunity for the part of a tomboyish Secondary 5 student after Jump's art director spotted a comment she left on New Face 2010 winner Vivien Ong's Facebook photo.

"The art director left me a Facebook message, inviting me to try out," recalled Jayley.

What won the production team over was, in large part, the short, trendy crop she now sports - courtesy of a makeover session organised by New Face.

"I used to have long hair. It was Wee Teck who decided I should cut it off," she said laughing.

So, does it feel weird and awkward for the young couple to be starring opposite each other in the same drama?

"A bit lah," said Jayley. "Some of the cast and crew members know that we are dating in real life...they'll talk about it."

As for Edwin, he feels "the teasing hasn't really started yet".

"I think it'll be okay. We just need to get used to it," he said.

For now, Jayley is focusing her energies solely on Jump.

"Acting is definitely something I see myself pursuing in the future, more so than modelling," she said.

"I've come to realise that I like performing in front of the camera."

The pair, who started going out more than a month ago, didn't hit it off immediately.

Jayley thought Edwin was "a flirt".

"From pictures of him on Twitter and On The Fringe, he looked like a player," she said.

"But after we got to know each other, my view of him changed for the better."

They were already Facebook friends for a year, she explained.

"But it was only after I met him at an old folks home's outreach event in September that we finally had a proper conversation."

Street Fighter
Edwin's buddy and On The Fringe co-star Ian Fang was the couple's "matchmaker" of sorts.

"That day, Ian was also there, and when he found out that I drove, he asked if I could give him and Edwin a ride to the nearest MRT station," said Jayley.

For Edwin, a BMC International College student who is awaiting his O-level results, it was "love at first sight".

"On our first date, we went to play arcade games and she beat me 10 times at Street Fighter...I've never lost to a girl before that," he told The New Paper with a chuckle.

He confessed sheepishly that he had five girlfriends before Jayley.

"So many, right!" she quipped. "He is only my second (boyfriend)."

Edwin, who has more than 20,000 fans on his Facebook fan page Edwinspiration, said that to his surprise, his throng of female admirers were not jealous after they got word of his budding romance.

"When (the news) first broke (in Lianhe Wanbao), many fans actually left me messages congratulating us and hoping that our relationship would last," he said.

He and Jayley support each other unhesitatingly in their respective projects.

"I go on (Jump's) set to watch his filming even though there are no scenes of mine for the day," she said.
Last month, Edwin went to tvN's K-Pop Star Hunt: Cube Auditions at Square 2 to catch her in action.

Jayley was one of the talent search's Top 20 finalists.

"I don't like K-pop at all, but I went anyway, just for her," he said.

Today I watched this movie Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol with Zhen Ling at Lot One. I like action movie. Tom Cruise acting was great. Enjoyed the movie. =D The movie in 2hr 10mins. I can't believe such nice movie made one guy sleep so soundly and snore so loudly. =/
After watching, we went to Popular to look for a book, but it wasn't there. We also went to look at the music cd. I saw the Taylor Swift CD, I like it, but it is $21.95 so expensive. =C. Zhen Ling saw our Pri 6 classmate Shi Ying. He looks so different. : o Can't believe in 7 years people changed alot.
After that, we went to meet Joyce and Shereen. We ate at Food Junction. After that, we went to choose present for Wan Zhen and Adeline. Then at 7.30pm we meet Wan Zhen at CCK MRT, then we took bus 172 to a hawker centre to eat dinner. After eating, we walked to near Zhen Ling house void deck and chat. It is like a 'old' friend gathering, as we were all in same class during primary 6. =) I reached home at 10.15pm. Enjoyed myself today. =D

欧萱上周末与粉丝聚会，比手划脚玩游戏，还收到特制彩虹蛋糕。

目前在拍U频道电视剧《跳浪》的欧萱，忙里抽空与粉丝在一年一度的聚会上会面，这是粉丝会Jeanius成立的第7年。

由于欧萱从去年底参与两部国外拍摄的作品《断掌的女人》和《千金》，所以有近8个月不在新加坡，一直到《995》才回国拍摄，因此粉丝们可想死了。

两个小时的聚会，约有30名粉丝参与，大家用餐聊天拍照，欧萱还与粉丝们玩游戏。

某个游戏要求参赛者比手划脚传话，欧萱乐在其中，蹲在粉丝前，伸出双手装可怜，大展演技。

圣诞佳节即将来临，萱迷们送上各种礼物，有彩色笔、有食谱、有书籍，令欧萱非常感动，在微博上表示："你们送给我的礼物，让我知道你们的确很了解我，我懂，你们懂的......"

此外，因为知道欧萱喜欢彩虹，粉丝们还特别订做了一个礼物造型的蛋糕，切开来是七彩的层次。欧萱开心回赠每个人设计亮丽的铅笔。

《跳浪》预计明年1月中杀青，欧萱计划在2月推出新书。这本书花了她3年筹备，她接受本地杂志采访时表示，现在一切总算可行，"至少我可以写自己想写的，不需要妥协"。

她之前曾告诉媒体，新书名称《Jeanette Aw：Definition》，灵感来自26个英文字母，每个拼凑出的名词，代表着她生命中重要的人、事、物。她仍未确定是否会同时以中英双语形式推出。

原本有份参与8频道电视剧《我爱狐狸精》，但因为档期问题，欧萱已确定退出此作品。

《995》将于2月7日晚上9点在8频道播出，《跳浪》于5月16日晚上10点在U频道播出。

Yesterday morning I was playing Habbo Hotel with Vick, his sister and my brother. The last time I play this game is when I was in Primary 6. In Habbo Hotel there is a game called FF(Flying Furniture). It is like a musical chair. The last to sit on the chair/bed will be out of the game. It's hard to win, but I enjoyed because funny thing happened. I have 2 character one is called linda39 and another one is called yunxy93. RoyalRichguy93 is Vick. =D

In the afternoon, I went to meet my counselor and she gave a envelope, inside is a certificate and $30 NTUC voucher. We chat a little and then off I go to Lot One to meet my mum and bro. I pass the voucher to my mum, because she is going to buy things at NTUC. After that at 6pm, I went to meet Pei Xuan and Jie Wen in school. They said they want to go gym, in the end when we reached school, they don't want. -__- So, we went to Woodlands to eat. In causeway, we met Carolin, Brent, Kok Hui, Jin Xing and Royston. After that, Jie Wen, Pei Xuan and I went to meet Noel. We walked to Woodlands Waterfront to play. It was my first time going there, and the playground is so nice. I miss climbing up the pyramid, that my house nearby playground used to have, and also the swing.

We saw puss in boots and it almost fell into the water. Before we go, we took jumping shot, but mostly failed. We climb up and jump many times and our legs are aching. =S I had a great day today with Pei Xuan, Jie Wen and Noel. We shall meet again next time. =D I reached home at 11pm. =)

Jeanius 7^th Anniversary

The event is on 10 December 2011, 11am to 4pm at SMU (Singapore Management University) Glass Room Café. It is a nice and cozy place to celebrate the special, which is Jeanius (Jeanette Aw’s Official Fan club) 7^th Anniversary. There are total of 30 Jeanius member chosen to attend the event, I was honored to be one of the chosen one. The date of the event had been schedule in November and it was the location that took a lot of time to decide where it should be held. It was great to see that the outcome of the event was a success. I can see that all of us as well as Jeanette Aw enjoyed herself.

All of us report at Bras Besah MRT at 11am. After that, the committee member will call to tell us where the location of the event is. After we settle in that room, the committee member brief us on what were the activities we will be doing later. We were split into 4 groups (Pink, Blue, Green, Purple). I am in purple group, with Karen, Janice, and more. We were split into groups for a reason, which is to have a competition. The first segment is we need to use the decoration provided to decorate our area. Jeanette Aw is the judge, she will give scores to each group. We were only given 30 minutes to decorate, therefore, we need to be fast. There were lots of unblow balloons and we need to blow ourselves. The hardest part is to tie the balloon for me, as I do not know how to tie a balloon. In the end I managed to blow and tie 2 balloons. We sat on the chair after decorating, to discuss what should we call Jeanette Aw when she come in. We all thought of greeting her as teacher, since she is currently filming a new drama and in that drama she played as a teacher. When she came in, one of them shout class stand, then we greet altogether. Good Morning Ms Aw. On that spot Jeanette Aw was stunned, because she was suppose to greet us good morning class, please sit, but she didn’t and all of us is staring at her waiting for her respond. That moment was super hilarious I can still remember her facial expression.

After that,we began our first game, which is guessing the word. This is how it is played. The first person will pick a piece of paper with the word inside, and the person need to act out the word, and pass it down to the next person. The last person in the group need to say out what is the answer. If the last person get correct, the group will gain 1 point. There were lots of laughter in the game, because some of the action changed along the way. Unfortunately my group didn't core any points for that game, because I couldn't guess what the word is. Overall the game was fun. It was my first time playing this game actually. =)

We had a break after that. There are lots of delicious food on the tray and the main dish is fried rice. One of my favourite food. =D While we are eating, Jeanette Aw started to walked around and looked at our decorations and give points for each group. I can still remember our group got 7/10. =D

After that, we played another game, which is who eat the food with extra ingredients inside. Luckily our group is not so bad. We were given Almond with vinegar . Our group got rice with wasabi, coffee with light soya sauce, one food stand. =D

After all the games we had, it's time to eat the cake. The surprise is inside the cake. The outside of the cake is pink and white. BUT the inside is full of rainbow colours. It's very nice. After eating the cake, we had individual and group photo. Individual photo was great, we get to give Jeanette Aw present and she also gave us each a pencil from Smiggle.

Before Jeanette Aw left the event, she had to us that she hope we have many years to come and see you next time. =)

Watched first episode of Perfect Deception on xinmsn during HRA lesson. I found the show interesting. It is about a lady called Jessica (played by Rebeca Lim) she lose her memory after an accident. When she woke up from her coma, she could not recognise her parents and friends. Some of the people around her aid her, while some is trying to harm her. I can say it is a very nice show. =D

Kenyans win StanChart Marathon

SINGAPORE: Kenya's distance runners have swept the top spots in this year's Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore.

The men made a clean sweep, with Charles Mwai Kanyao crossing the finish line in 2 hours 14 minutes and 32.07 seconds.

Charles Mwai Kanyao said: "When I saw the finishing line, I said let me die. Because it's the first time I (have) won in (a) marathon. I used to run but did not win anywhere. It's my luck today."

About five seconds behind was Luke Kipkemoi Chelimo, in 2 hours 14 minutes and 37.35 seconds.

Third was John Kelai in 2 hours 15 minutes.

Last year's winner, Kenneth Mburu Mungara, also from Kenya, dropped out after 21 kilometres as he was not feeling well.

Leading the Kenyan pack for women was Irene Jerotich Kosgei, who clocked 2 hours 36 minutes to defend her title.

Ethiopia's Roman Gebregessesse broke the Kenyan dominance, finishing second in 2 hours 37 minutes.

Kenya's Magadelene Mukunzi finished third in 2 hours 38 minutes.

The first-placed runners of the men's and women's races took home US$50,000 each.

The local champion is Mok Ying Ren, who clocked 2 hours 46 minutes to defend his title.

For the local women's title, Qi Hui finished in 3 hours 6 minutes.

A record 65,000 runners took part in the event over different distances.

About 20,000 of them ran the full marathon of 42.195 kilometres, which started at 5am in Orchard Road and covered places such as the newly-opened Bay East interim garden, East Coast Park and Marina Bay.

Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Chan Chun Sing believes the mix of elite and novice runners offers a special running experience.

Mr Chan said: "The front runners, the casual runners, everybody to come forth, because at the end of the day when you run a marathon, it's not a race against other people per se.

"It's also a race with yourself. A lot of it has a lot to do with your own internal discipline."

Man dies after completing half-marathon in StanChart race

Chartered Marathon Singapore on Sunday morning.

The Organising Committee said in a statement on Sunday afternoon that he collapsed at the finish line at about 8.30am.

He was immediately attended to and sent to the Singapore General Hospital.

He died at about 9.30am.

The Organising Committee will assist the Police in its investigation.

STOMPer SCMS2011 was upset when she and her friends were served food that had apparently expired at the Standard Chartered Marathon this morning (Dec 4).

Said the STOMPer:

"We went to volunteer at the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011 and got this food pack at 1.30am today, when the sticker on the container clearly stated that the food had expired an hour before that, at 12.30am.

"They distribute expired food with hair in them and expect us to eat them!

"My classmates and I dare not take the risk because we don't want to suffer from food poisoning.

"There have been news about food poisoning on TV and newspapers nowadays and yet they still don't take it seriously!

"Are they going to wait till people are admitted to hospital before they take serious actions with regard to expired and unhygienic food?

"When my classmates asked the leader, who was wearing a Standard Chartered shirt, he said it was OK. Just sit on the floor and eat. Horrible. This us just horrible!"

STOMP also received another complaint from STOMPer James, whose daughter participated in the marathon:

"On behalf of my daughter, I'm writing in regarding a very disappointed experience she experienced in this year Standard Chartered Marathon 2011.

"She reached the bag deposit point at around 5.45am and queued for 90 minutes, only to know they had just closed the bag deposit point.

"They were then telling people that the starting point will be closing soon as they will be 're-opening' the road thus all runners who still wanted to carry on for the run had to 'run quickly' to the starting point before they closed it.

"With her heavy bag, my daughter had to run all the way to the starting point and carry on her 21 km challenge.

"Upon reaching 11km, she was told to board the bus as she was too slow but that was because she had wasted 90 minutes at the bag deposit point.

"They said they would ferry her to the finishing point and she would still get her medal but that isn't what she signed up for?

"I certainly do not understand what the management has been doing, especially since it's such a large-scale event. I am really very disappointed with this issue."

Today after school, Vick, Jon, Haziq, Atika, Jie Wen, Pei Xuan, Francis and I was having lunch at Eco. I ate Chicken Bolongnaise. It was very delicious and it only cost $2.50. =D After that, Haziq, Atika, Jie Wen, Pei Xuan, Francis went home and left the 3 of us at Eco. We were chatting and doing funny things. =) At 2.30pm, we took LRT to CCK. Jon went to work, while I send Vick to 985 Bus Stop. After that, I went to Lot One to buy new shoes and stationery, as my pencil case was lost last week after the WTB exam.

1. No secrets: Share secrets with your love ones. It shows that you trust him/her and you’re opening up to him/her. Whether it’s an embarrassing one of your personal wishes, we won’t judge you. In fact, we think it’s sweet when a guy is brave enough to admit something that only his best friends know / no one at all!

2. Be his/her pillar of strength: Be there when his/she is feeling down, make him/her believe in himself/herself when him/her self-confidence hits rock bottom.

3. Surprise him/her: You don't need to buy expensive stuff to make your man/woman happy. Little surprises out of the blue will gain you plus points and a 100-watt smile from her.

4. Spare time for her: Regular meals together will strengthen your relationship - it's a private time for both of you to talk to each other without interruptions. Remember to keep your phone away from the table though, or else you'll be paying more attention to it than to your boyfriend/girlfriend.

5. PDA: Hold her hand in front of your mates, give her a kiss and don't be shy to hug her in public.

6. Tell her she's beautiful: Your other half should be the most beautiful girl in the world to you, and let her know that - often! A lot of guys constantly compliment other girls but not the one who's actually next to them!

7. Share your feelings: If you miss him/her, let him/her know. Tell him/her how you feel about him/her - the 'I love you's' should be expressed more often than just during your anniversary.

8. Stand up for him/her: If anyone says anything bad about your boy/girl or makes fun of him/her, don't be a jerk and just agree or laugh along. You should have him/her back and stand up for him/her in such situations.

9. Bring her shopping: Monthly trips to high street stores like Forever 21.

10. Be responsible: Pay the bills on time, don't be late to dinner dates, and help your loved one out in household matters. Guys, it's not okay to make your woman wait hours for you or on you.

11. Attention: Be attentive to your woman's needs and emotions. If she has had a tough day at work, let her rest and don't expect her to still cook dinner for you while you just sit around and watch TV. If she looks unhappy, ask her what's the matter, talk to her, or give her a hug.

12. Hang out with her friends: Make the effort to get to know her friends and be nice to them. Some guys don't think it's important to hang out with his girl's friends, but see it as a way to get to know your girl better (friends can give an insight about her character as well!) and, it's always good to have her friends on your side!

13. Be honest: The truth can hurt, but it's always best to be honest. If you want to hang out with your friends, then tell her instead of doing it behind her back / if something's bothering you, then let your girl know. A relationship can only survive when there's no communication barrier between a couple.

14. Keep your promises: Women dislike guys who are 'All Talk, No Action'. If you promised to bring her out on a date, or even small things like calling her, make sure you do it. When you keep on forgetting, you're creating the impression that you're irresponsible and she can't depend on you to keep your word.

Today had a great day at Carolin's house from 4pm to 8.40pm. We played the Nerf gun and I'm the target. All 4 (Carolin, Brent and Carolin's brother) shoot me. I swear like in school when I was in gym, but it was fun. It was like the real life Blackshot haha. =D

This Saturday have the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011. Our class are assign to the job to help out with the event. Which is to provide the runners with water. It is a 2 days 1 night event, so we cannot sleep from 9pm to 7am. Our class standing position is at Orchard. =)

One month of school holiday is coming soon. For now, school is per normal. For HRA, there will be a group project for us to do during holiday and the deadline is on 3rd Feb 2012. My group members are Vick, Jon, Haziq, Atika and me. Our group is called Jojoo. =D During HRA today was quite a slack one. Because all like no mood to discuss about the project. We are all eating and drinking in class. haha =D But, tomorrow lesson will start. Mrs Cheong is going to teach us Unit 4. Which is related to the project that she gave. As for SVE, Mdm Darni start to show everyone's role play video on the screen. Mine haven't show yet. Will upload my role play later this week. After school, Vick, Carolin, Brent and I went to Lot One to shop. We went to Kiddy Palace too. haha =D I missed that place so much. But now they are selling lesser barbie dolls. =C

Anyway, I am currently looking for job. I was looking from Gumtree and I found a meaningful job. I've just send them that I'm willing to join them and help to raise funds for those children. Hope they reply tomorrow. =)

Exams are over. But there is 2 more weeks of school before holiday. HRA and WTB exam are not so difficult. I hope I can pass this 2 module well. As for SVE, I can only try my best for the role play video. I didn't have any expectation for my SVE, as I don't really like this module.

刘子绚《行医》演活女医　变美承认“动手脚”

被指整容，刘子绚喜见自己成功了。

《行医》的女医生敏菲，让大家看到刘子绚从里到外的变化，演技进步不在话下，连样貌也有了巨变，各界的反应是：她一夜之间变美了。不料，随即而来的却是一再被质疑在脸上“动刀”、整容。

从《行医》拍摄期间到播出，整容疑云一直拨不走。

刚从马国拍完贺岁片《贪心鬼见鬼》回来，昨天面对“整容”问题，她不怒反笑：“之前就有听到人家在说了。习惯就好。那些红的人，或开始有名气的艺人，都有被人怀疑整容的经历。哈哈，这表示我成功了，表示这剧引起大家的讨论。”

对她而言，有人谈《行医》不管焦点在哪里，都是一件好事。她透露，有去做脸部激光护理和电波疗程：“30岁过后，是需要好好保养皮肤的，我连饮食都有做调整。”

她认为，演员从里到外保有最佳状态，对剧组和角色都是百利无害的。

“吃得健康，是不想轧戏病倒，拖慢拍摄工作。”大家认为她美了，显然，她的护肤疗程奏效，正所谓“没有丑女人，只有懒女人”。她马上从包包内掏出一本“自然健康饮食”的书说：“我正在尝试让自己的饮食以蔬果为主。有吃深海鱼，已经一年不吃肉了，发现人也精神很多。”

Today I was late for HRA lesson. =s Overall, the school day today is boring. Didn't do anything much. The things not done are role play script and video. It is hard to write a script. Mdm Darni reject my script many times. I hope by this week can done with this. Tomorrow is our class event called Dare To Be Gaga. We need to dress in either pink or black. Tomorrow doesn't seems to have any lesson, as this event is whole day.
